1. Journal identity and mission
SINTHOP: Media Kajian Pendidikan, Agama, Sosial dan Budaya is a double-blind peer-reviewed journal published by Lembaga Aneuk Muda Peduli Ummat in collaboration with LaKaspia, Banda Aceh, Indonesia.
The journal advances theoretically informed, methodologically sound, ethically responsible, and internationally relevant scholarship. Local research is welcome when it explains a broader mechanism, contributes to theory, enables comparison, informs policy, or offers transferable methodological or practical insight.
2. Subject areas
Education Studies
Pedagogy, curriculum, assessment, digital and inclusive learning, teacher education, educational leadership, policy, and institutional development.
Religious Studies
Qur'anic exegesis, Hadith, jurisprudence, theology, Islamic education, contemporary thought, lived religion, ethics, and interfaith relations.
Social and Cultural Studies
Sociology, anthropology, politics, communication, media, gender, migration, community development, heritage, and cultural transformation.
Interdisciplinary Social Sciences
Work integrating social, educational, cultural, religious, environmental, technological, ethical, and policy perspectives.
3. Methods and article types
The journal welcomes original qualitative, quantitative, mixed-methods, historical, textual, document-based, action, development, and comparative research; systematic and scoping reviews; meta-analyses; bibliometric studies; and theoretical or conceptual articles.
Every article must present a method appropriate to its type. Conceptual articles must explain their source base and analytical procedure; review articles must use a reproducible search and selection process.
4. Editorial priorities
- a clearly defined scholarly problem and identifiable contribution;
- engagement with relevant current and international scholarship;
- transparent methods and conclusions proportionate to the evidence;
- critical analysis rather than description alone;
- ethical treatment of participants, communities, texts, and data;
- comparative, interdisciplinary, theoretical, policy, or practical significance.
5. Normally outside scope
- popular essays, sermons, promotional writing, or unstructured opinion pieces;
- manuscripts whose main subject has no meaningful connection to education, religion, society, or culture;
- purely descriptive local reports without a scholarly question, method, or contribution;
- legal-doctrinal work unrelated to the journal's stated multidisciplinary scope;
- manuscripts based on unreliable sources, fabricated references, or unsupported claims;
- editorials, book reviews, or other non-research content unless specifically commissioned.
